Party Music is a locally owned and operated family business. For 40 years, we have provided live DJ entertainment for thousands of weddings and ceremonies. This isn’t a side-gig, this is our full-time passion! We pride ourselves on our customer service and attention to detail… we listen and work with you to ensure your wedding entertainment goes exactly how you want it to go!
Our promise
We have no hidden fees, what you are quoted is what you will be charged. We coordinate with your venue to get all of our equipment set-up well in advance of your guests arrival. We don't use contractors either. We personally hire and train all of our DJs in-house to ensure quality and professionalism.
Make it yours
Upon booking with Party Music, you will receive access to your custom client portal. Inside your personalized portal are planning documents, a message center, invoicing and more.
You can select if you want any wedding activities, specify your first dance songs, select the genres of music you want played, request songs and more. You can even specify must-play or must-not-play songs!
If you prefer a more hands-off approach, just fill out the basic info and leave the rest to our experienced team of wedding experts! Either way, our phones are always on for any questions you may have, and we are always happy to help!
Ceremony Services
Party Music can also handle all the music and audio needs for your ceremony! We’ve done hundreds of ceremonies, and we can supply all the speakers and wireless microphones needed for your ceremony and play all the music from your guest seating to the recessional and everything in between!
Our Philosophy
We don’t just show up the day of your wedding and play a cookie-cutter show… we put in more time before the wedding, getting organized and preparing our show based off our conversations with you and all the information we’ve gathered in the online planning questionnaires, because attention to detail matters!
Sound & Lights
We use professional-grade speakers for a rich and properly balanced sound and full-spectrum programmable LED lights to create a fun and tasteful atmosphere. This is a wedding, not a rave in a dirty basement… so we leave the headache inducing strobe lights and blinding laser beams at home.

What makes Party Music different?
There are a lot of DJs and DJ companies in Minnesota, but there are not a lot with 40 years of operational experience. We do this full-time and have since the beginning. We have systems in place, like our client portal, to simplify and de-stress the process of managing and planning the entertainment for your wedding. Your wedding entertainment doesn’t have to be another added stress in the wedding planning process!
Have you (or what if you never have) played at my venue before?
Being around for as long as we have, there is a good chance we have played at your venue. But, even if we haven’t, rest assured we take all the necessary steps BEFORE your wedding day to personally connect with your venue and arrange set-up and teardown of our equipment, verify power requirements, etc. We will scout the venue in person if we’ve never performed there before and would be glad to meet you at your venue anytime if you’d like to discuss layout options!
How does booking with Party Music work?
Once you’ve decided you want to move forward with Party Music, we will send out a contract with our agreed upon services and price for you to digitally sign and ask for a deposit of 50% of the contract price. This deposit officially locks in your date and secures it for you. Once your deposit is received, you will get a password for your client login and all of your planning documents, a message center and remaining invoice are accessible through the portal.
What are your wedding DJ packages?
All our wedding services start with a base of 6 hours of DJ entertainment. Those 6 hours can be divided between cocktail, dinner and dance music however you want! Beyond that basic starting point, all of our packages are custom. We figured out decades ago that having set “packages” just doesn’t work best for our clients. Every wedding is unique. Every couple has a different timeline and needs. We are always happy to give you a free, no-obligation and no-hassle quote. Just get in contact us with us here!
Why shouldn’t I go with the Craigslist DJ for $250?
Well, it is your wedding so you can do whatever you want, but since you asked… PLEASE DON’T. Through the years, we’ve heard numerous horror stories of DJs who show up 10 minutes before the wedding in cargo shorts or not at all. We’ve even taken on clients just days before their wedding from nervous couples who had no faith their discount DJ would come through. Even if you don’t book with us, we’d urge you to book with a reputable DJ company.

We hope you do! Your wedding day is one of, if not the, most important day of your life.
